Before Gabe and I even had kids or were even pregnant, we had baby names picked out. Four to be exact. Two girls and two boys.
Well, here were are 7+ years later finding it hard to name this baby. Alena and Christian were easy but this one is different. We'd love to have a name meaning that actually means something to us and has something to do with the struggle it took to have this child.
The names I come up with, Gabe doesn't like. This names he comes up with, I don't like. And then the name we had selected long ago for a girl just doesn't appeal much to me anymore.
And until we come up with a name on our own, I don't want to throw any names out there for others to voice their opinion about and change our minds. Fortunately for us, we still have 6+ months to figure it out.
We are also finding that we keep putting girl names out there (probably because that's what we think this baby is?) and no boy names. I'm looking for a name that can't be shortened, has more than one syllable, and means something to our personal struggle to get pregnant, isn't too popular but nothing you haven't heard before, and can't really be abbreviated or made fun of.
Yeah I know, we have our work cut out for us. AHH!
What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet

Hello from The TT Diaries your newest follower from the blog mingle. All of my children are named after someone in our family that means something to us.I think picking baby names is hard. Good Luck :)
ReplyDeleteOver here from the mingle and a new follower - I love your quote on top...stop by to see me and you'll see mine :-)
ReplyDeleteMy first sons name was off a license plate, my second was from a magazine. With our third we chose family names to give it more meaning. We also followed the ABC's - we have Avery, Brydon, and Calvin.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower now, just stopped by from the Blog Hop.

Hehehe... my hubby and I were the same way coming up with names for our son. We finally settled on Troy after months of debate!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was easy picking our daughter's name (Brynn), but I just couldn't find something I liked for our son. I ended up letting my husband choose and he settled on Parker. Now I love it and it fits him perfectly! For the record, I also love the name Parker for a girl. :)
ReplyDeleteStopping by from the Mingle and now following you!
Funny enough I had always loved the name Samantha but we named our daughter Sydney. And for our son we had decided on Payton up until his birth and then went with Dylan. So you never know what yo are really going to end up with until your bundle of joy arrives.
ReplyDeleteI am following you now and hope you follow back.
